Soliloquy In The Dust

In 2009 the remains of Shakespeare’s first theatre were uncovered in Shoreditch. Director Trevor Melvin breathes life into this discovery with a fusion of film, theatre and psychogeography, staging Hamlet’s most famous soliloquy at the site where the play premiered in the 1590s. Shot with ten pocket digital cameras, and using the First Folio text, this is an “Ur-Hamlet” for our times.
