After an antagonising lead up to the Oscars, I am pleased to announce that The Phone Call won Best Live Action Short!!!
Its hard to put into words how proud I am to have been a part of this amazing journey. It all started in a disused warehouse in Tottenham. Sally Hawkins and Jim Broadbent were amazing and brought such emotion to an already emotional script, sometimes leaving the crew in tears. The Phone Call went on to win at various film festivals around the world. It was the win at Tribeca Film Festival that put us into the long list for the Oscars. We had made it from 141 films down to 10 that were Shortlisted. Mat & James did an amazing job of getting the film known. On January 15th we all watched the nominations being announced and couldn't quite believe that we had done it! Mat actually fell off of his chair!
Oscars night was quite an evening. Soho house London held an Academy party to screen the ceremony so a few of us who worked on the film watched the night unfold with friends and peers. When we won I don't think any of us could believe it at first, someone had to pinch me. Definitely a night I will not forget. You can catch the trailer here , Please get in touch if you wish to watch the film in its entirety.
We are very pleased to announce that The Phone Call has been nominated at this years Oscars for Best Short (Live Action). The shortlist was cut in half from 10 to the remaining 5.
Take a sneaky peek at a clip from the film.....
